Karim Samaï is co-founder and manager of La Compagnie des Taxi-Brousse since 1991. He has produced more than 450 programmes for broadcasters. Born in 1963 in Prague, Karim Samaï holds a degree in Economy from l’Université de Paris X, Nanterre. He debuted in 1987 in event management with Télémaque et Pénélope. Later on he founded, with Laurent Mini along with other partners, the association Taxi Vidéo Brousse. Its aim was to promote the broadcasting of local audio-visual programmes in Africa. From this experience and their passion for documentary genre, they founded in 1991 the production company La Compagnie des Taxis-Brousse.
Karim Samaï collaborates with several institutions and funds. He has been a comitee member for Fond d’aide in Languedoc-Roussillon and in Bretagne in France, member of the first CNC documentary fund commission and member of the Bureau Télévision Elargi at SPI (Independant Producers Federation) and has also taught at Université de Montpellier.
